Hi! My name is Bensu Turk i’m a university student currently attending Ryerson University as a third year marketing major. Although i am getting a degree in business which allows me to have a business oriented perspective, I also have the duality of being a very creative and artistic person wish is shown in some of my previous circulars. This along with my work experience starting from the age of 16 allows me to excel in marketing and business in a unique and differentiated way.
I chose to go about my elevator pitch in this way after doing some research and based on the experience of creating previous resumes/cover letters. I thought it would be important to show them who I am and why I would be a relevant addition to their company based on my current education and path. I also thought to give myself an advantage by highlighting something about me that had the potential to show that I can bring something different to their company than some of who they already may have working for them (trying to differentiate myself). I displayed my work ethic by pointing out i’ve been working since the age of 16. I didn’t really consider any steps other than introduce yourself, what you are currently doing, and then market yourself to the potential employer by listing qualities about you that would be relevant in adding value to their business. It had to be short and sweet so I decided those were the most important things to include in the elevator pitch. All in all I also decided to stay honest and humble with a professional tone while still displaying some belief within myself.
